Laurent Miaille:
Four Photographs

Textured Works- IV

Acrobatic Fishermen
Seul Two

Granitic World- III

Laurent Miaille learned traditional photography fifteen years ago.  Two years ago he discovered digital photography and with it new horizons and opportunity for fuller expression.  The effects obtained with long exposures of the elements often associated with early morning light can reveal a fantasy world but at the same time very real, suitable for quietness and contemplation. In compositions which tend toward to minimalism, the landscape becomes zen, purified, dreamlike. The square format has imposed itself little by little and suits him perfectly in terms of composition, playing on the symmetries and occupation of space.
